Ranking Records' eighth imprint sees a blazing first solo outing from both Planas and Quantum Soul. Planas' 'Zulu' on the A Side is a militant techno-influenced rinseout with enough turbulent low end to shake an African desert. An uneasy opening atmosphere is indication of the devastation that is about to occur, as the sudden introduction of a gradually developing bassline and drum pattern slowly morphs into a terrifying and frenzied tribal second drop. 'Living in Darkness' on the flip sees prolific producer Quantum Soul deliver a healthy dose of half-step pressure. With a beefy, assured drum pattern and a barrage of razor edged synths, this one will drop nice and heavy in the dance.
